Merlot
2007
Background
Made exclusively with fruit from our vineyard in Okanagan
Centre. Growing Merlot commercially on the 50th parallel may
seem a little unusual but we enjoy the challenge. We spend a
lot of time tucking, thinning and trimming to create the right
balance for each vine. The grapes are the last to be harvested,
allowing them to ripen and develop flavour until late fall.
Tasting Notes
One
year in American oak has developed rich, toasty, cedar notes
over dried fruit, raspberry and blackcurrant aromas. Mellow yet
complex, this wine can be enjoyed now or benefit from careful
cellaring.
Food Pairing
Serve with braised chicken, lamb, stew and strong cheeses.
