Merlot 2015

Background
The grapes for our Merlot are grown in the Suncrest Vineyard in Okanagan Centre. The vines were planted in 1998 on a steep, westerly slope in very coarse and rocky soil. For a grape like Merlot, this is essentially a warm site in a cool region. It yields an elegant, medium-bodied food wine with lovely blackberry, blackcurrant and floral notes.

Tasting Notes
Blackberry, blackcurrant, violet and cedar aromas are complemented by an undertone of vanilla and chocolate. It is medium bodied with a fine acidity and tannin structure that make this wine pair nicely with braised chicken, roasted duck or lamb, baked pasta dishes and charcuterie.
