Pinot Gris 2024

CA$24.10

What it is
Pinot Gris is the copper-skinned member of the Pinot family. It produces elegant white wines with a rich texture and complex aromatics.

Where it was grown
Primarily grown at Ritchie Vineyard and Arrowleaf Estate in Lake Country, Okanagan Valley.

When it was grown
The 2024 vintage is one that mostly wasn’t. An arctic outflow event in mid-January caused temperatures to plummet to -25.5°C in our vineyards. Most of the fruitful buds on the vines were destroyed and a lot of vines died as a result. Some varieties fared better than others and we were able to harvest a small crop of locally grown grapes. The growing season itself was on the cool side and the grapes retained a high degree of natural acidity. We spent much of the growing season rehabilitating our vines and getting them ready for a more fruitful vintage in 2025.

How it was made
The grapes were hand-picked at optimal ripeness in late September and gently pressed to obtain the best quality juice. After fermentation, the wine was left to rest on the lees in neutral oak puncheons during the winter before filtration and bottling in the spring.

How it tastes
Subtle aromas of honeydew melon, peach and red apple. On the palate it presents as a generously textured, nearly dry wine with a smooth mid-palate, moderate acidity and ripe fruit on the finish. Vegan Wine.

Technical Details
Residual Sugar 6.7 g/l
Acidity 6.4 g/l
Alcohol 13.5%
