The 2020 Zweigelt is a limited-production vintage from Ritchie Farm in Lake Country, distinguished by its exceptional fruit quality and concentration. Winter bud damage reduced yields by 40%, resulting in a smaller crop of exceptional quality. A cooler summer and fall allowed the fruit to ripen slowly, developing excellent concentration. Aged for 12 months in French and Eastern European oak, this medium-bodied wine offers vibrant red cherry and rich dark chocolate, complemented by cracked black pepper and delicate floral notes of violet. Smooth, well-integrated tannins lead to a lingering finish of concentrated red fruit.
