Pinot Noir 2021 (Library Wine)

CA$35.10
Limited Availability

Silver Medal - 2023 WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada

What it is
A rich and full-flavoured Pinot Noir grown in the Lake Country region of the Okanagan Valley.

Where it was grown
Wendell Orchards, Lake Country, Okanagan Valley
Arrowleaf Estate, Lake Country, Okanagan Valley
Ritchie Farm, Lake Country, Okanagan Valley

When it was grown
2021 was one of the hottest and driest years on record in British Columbia. The early part of summer brought the highest temperatures ever recorded in the Okanagan followed by prolonged drought that lasted well into the fall. This resulted in a smaller than average crop of very ripe, concentrated grapes. Harvest started in early September and was finished by mid October. All in all, it was an extreme growing season that has created the potential for some truly unique wines.

How it was made
The grapes were harvested at peak ripeness between mid-September to early October. Fermentation took place in multiple batches using different yeast strains. The wine was aged in French oak barrels (20% new) for 9 months before blending and bottling in late summer.

How it tastes
Raspberry, dark cherry, cedar and rose petal aromas combine with subtle notes of leather and earth. It has a rich texture on the mid-palate and a long finish with smooth tannins.

Technical Details
Residual Sugar 2.3 g/l
Acidity 5.8 g/l
Alcohol 13.5%
Cases Made 626
